Rania Bakry obtained her PhD degree in pharmacy (specialization Analytical pharmaceutical Chemistry) from the University of Alexandria (Egypt). From 2000 she conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Innsbruck (Austria). In 2008 she was guest scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, California, USA. She received her Habilitation in 2014 from the university of Innsruck.

Rania Bakry, main research activity is focused on design and synthesis of novel column structures including monoliths and coatings in capillary column format based on organic polymer. These columns were applied successfully for the enrichment and both chromatographic and electrophoretic separation. In addition, design and development of improved chromatographic materials for isolation and enrichment of trace components in complex matrices. She has experience in method development, validation and quantification of compounds in complex matrices.
